The Vala™ typeface is elegant, passionate – and one powerful communicator. Start with a classic English Roundhand script, fold in a bit of Bodoni Extra Bold and you have the beginnings of this larger than life design. Powerfully engaging headlines, subheads with a robust grace, and packaging that pops are just a few of the hard copy places where Vala shines. But the design is not limited to print projects. Vala is equally at home in print and on screen. Use it for banners, headings, navigational links and branding in web sites, blog posts, games and apps. Oscar Guerrero took advantage of OpenType® capabilities when he drew Vala. A large suite of swash capitals, over 30 fancy ligatures, and a set of lowercase alternative characters, enable fonts of Vala to easily emulate custom lettering for poster, publication, menu and logotype design. Dramatic stroke weight contrast, dynamic ball-terminals and sensuous curves give Vala its energy, while a large x-height and open counters make it easy on the eyes. Unlike most scripts, Vala can even be set in all caps.
